Google announced its recent financial results they other day, and Google’s CEO Larry Page announced some more details on how Google’s Android OS is doing, and it would appear that Android is doing pretty good as he announced that Google has now activated over 190 million Android devices worldwide.
He also talked a little about the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which we are expecting to launch next week at the same time as the Google Nexus Prime.
The growth of Android is mind-boggling too. Over 190m devices have now been activated globally. I’m super-excited about the soon-to-be released new version of Android called Ice Cream Sandwich, that’s right, Ice Cream Sandwich. You won’t believe what we manage to get done in this release.
The last time we heard about the amount of android devices that had been activated was in July, when Google announced they had activated a total of 130 million android devices, do an increase of 60 million Android device in just under four months is pretty impressive.
