HP g7-1368dx

The HP g7-1368dx from the Pavilion g-series budget notebook line is a desktop replacement machine with a 17.3-inch display, the A6-3420M quad-core processor with Radeon HD 6520G integrated graphics, a 500GB hard drive, and 4GB of RAM.

Except the screen and dimensions, the specifications of the HP g7-1368dx are almost identical to those of the 15.6-inch g6-1d98dx. The former doesn’t have only a larger screen diagonal, but also the resolution is 1600×900 instead of 1366×768. The trade-off is a bulkier and heavier case than on the g6. The g7-1368dx measures 6.1 lbs, almost one pound heavier than the 5.2-pound g6. So, it isn’t easy to tote the 17.3-incher around. However, thickness of both notebooks is 1.4 inches.

In addition, the g7-1368dx likely has a shorter battery life, since larger screens consume more power and both systems ship with 6-cell batteries.

We said the specs are “almost” identical, because the g7 has built-in Bluetooth, which lacks on the g6 model.

Anyway, the Pewter-colored 1368dx is a good solution for laptop shoppers looking for a larger than standard screen size and affordable price. The notebook costs $430 and is $50 more expensive than the 15.6? variant.
