Largan may hit record revenues in 3Q12Erica Yen, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Friday 6 July 2012]Largan Precision, a Taiwan-based maker of lens modules used in phone cameras, will begin to ship lens modules for use in 8-megapixel rear cameras and 1.3-megapixel front cameras of a new version of iPhone in July and is therefore likely to see its consolidated revenues for the third quarter of 2012 hit a quarterly record, according to industry sources.

Due to decreased shipments of lens modules, Largan saw second-quarter consolidated revenues of NT$3.338 billion (US$113 million), a drop of 8.31% on quarter, the sources indicated.

Largan has been competing for orders from China-based vendors, with such orders accounting for about 10% of its January-June 2012 consolidated revenues, the sources said.
