We have reported recently about the AMD-powered Lenovo B575 – 1450ALU budget laptop for business users, and today we will take a look at an Intel-based variant, the Lenovo B570-1068BAU.
Both 15.6? laptops come with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB of hard drive space, which are expected amounts at the sub-$350 price point, but the B570-1068BAU packs the Intel Pentium B960 dual-core 2.2GHz processor instead of the AMD E-450. If you compare the two, you’ll find that the B960 is way better when it comes to the raw computing power, but the E-450 has better integrated graphics if you put it against the B960's Intel HD IGP. Overall, for day-to-day business and home computing tasks, the B960 is a batter choice, if you exclude gaming.
Despite its extremely cheap nature, the $330 B570-1068BAU does provide some good features such as a built-in fingerprint reader and HDMI, but Bluetooth and USB 3.0 technology are missing. However, a webcam is there and it features a basic 0.3MP sensor. Another extra feature is the included 3-year warranty for parts, up from the usual 1-year.
If you prefer a streamlined professional look rather than a glossy consumer design, the B570 can easily be the best buying choice in its price range. Of course, you can’t expect ruggedness, performance and features of the ThinkPad series, but the B570 will suite almost every computing need in home, office, and small business environments.
